Faculty/Staff Membership

Quantum Center Membership Criteria

Membership Review Procedures

In line with the need to significantly expand the sphere of faculty participating in QISE research, CQISE will not prohibit initial membership to anyone meeting the criteria described above. However, the director, with support from CQISE executive leadership, will review the participation of each member in center activities on a biennial basis. The two-year review procedure shall assess the following criteria, for which three of the seven conditions must be met andself-reported to retain membership:

  • Mentor or serve as a committee member of a QISE scientist,
  • Host for a seminar speaker in QISE,
  • Contribute to a QISE center grant proposal as PI, co-I, or contributing faculty,
  • Contribute to CQISE resource development efforts,
  • Contribute to CQISE curriculum, short-courses and/or workshops,
  • Serve as a CQISE consultant to study design and/or analysis, or
  • Serve on the CQISE Executive Advisory Committee.

A consistent lack of involvement will generate a communication from the director, and after two years of inactivity, membership will be abolished if extenuating circumstances are not communicated and/or accepted. Upon loss of membership, the individual will not qualify for certain incentives of the center, such as seed grants, support for proposal development, and consulting services. Membership may be reinstated after a minimum of one-year demonstrated activity to the criteria above and formal petition to the director.
